Policy Statement

As System Operator, Transpower has a contract with the Electricity Commission to co-ordinate and manage the real time transmission of electricity – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The System Operator's obligations are set out in Part C of the Electricity Governance Rulebook. These obligations include a Policy Statement (Part C Schedule C4) on how Transpower will meet those obligations.

The System Operator reviews the Policy Statement annually, as required by the Electricity Governance Regulations and Rules.

2010 Draft Policy Statement

The draft Policy Statement for 2010 has now been submitted to the Electricity Commission and is available on their website for viewing. The Electricity Commission will be starting their consultatation process in the near future.
