New Market Systems
SFT Implementation
A workshop was held on 11th December with interested Generators to discuss the implementation of SFT. The presentation is now available.

SFT Constraint Publication
The automated constraint development function of the new systems has been tested and is ready. However, the full functionality will not be used initially and we will limit use of the capability to undertaking schedule security checking.
After the new systems have gone live we will establish a project to train our staff and get them used to the functionality, readying us and industry for introduction of automated constraint development into live schedule production.
It is unlikely that we will be live with SFT before the end of 2009.

The System Operator has run a forum regarding the design of the Simultaneous Feasibility Test (SFT), the new Weekly Dispatch Schedule (WDS) and publication proposals.

SPD / EMS Alignment Project
Update: Testing of the SPD-EMS alignment implementation scripts is complete and the results have been audited. The changes will be effective in SPD from 14:00 on Saturday 8 December. For further information see the CAN issued 6 December 2007.
There will be a change to the naming and default flow direction conventions applied to SPD model branches. As a result of the changes to branch names and default flow direction it has also been necessary to update equation constraints to reflect these changes. These changes are being done in preparation for implementation of the System Operator’s new market systems which are scheduled to be commissioned in 2008.
Once the new market systems are fully commissioned, all market and operational data will be managed through one source, hence the need to standardise modelling conventions across these systems.
For further information on the new branch names can be found in the related information below.
