Market
The Electricity Market is run according to the Electricity Governance Rules and Regulations (EGRs) which list principle performance obligations for the System Operator.
The System Operator's obligations are set out in Part C of the Electricity Governance Rulebook which includes a Policy Statement, on how Transpower will meet those obligations, and a Procurement Plan which sets out the means by which the System Operator will purchase ancillary services (like instantaneous reserves) in order to operate and manage the power system in real time.
In this section of our website you will also find graphical representations of the grid and the market model, and information about the Offer and Bid Setup and Ancillary Services.
