Commissioning Process

The System Operator has updated its internal operations guide for commissioning new power system assets.  One of the key drivers for this review was to clearly record the current practices developed by Transpower (System Operator and Grid Owner), delineating each of the 4 stages of the commissioning process defined in the EGRs:

• planning
• prior to commissioning
• during commissioning
• on completion of commissioning.

An abridged version of this document has been produced to provide third party asset owners information about the internal process that Transpower follows and to give a high level view of asset owner obligations and the likely asset owner interactions with Transpower during the commissioning process.
